Mission & Vision
The Blue Accelerator mission is to stimulate and facilitate the development and scaling-up of renewable energy solutions at sea, by offering a versatile test and demonstration facility. Blue Accelerator and its team aspire to a significant expansion of blue energy, which also includes floating solar PV, offshore wind and other green energy vectors, such as green hydrogen.
As owner of the platform
POM West Flanders is a regional development agency for the further development of a sustainable and innovative economy in West Flanders by promoting partnerships between industry, SMEs, knowledge institutions, the public sector and the general public (in a quadruple helix approach).
POM West Flanders is active in many sectors, including in the blue economy sector. To facilitate this, POM West Flanders owns and operates various infrastructure facilities, such as Blue Accelerator.

In addition to Blue Accelerator in Ostend, the broader Flanders area offers you a whole chain of test facilities, ranging from TRL 1 to 9, inbedded in a large blue growth network of expertise.
